Monal Top Trek is one of the most well-known treks in Chamoli. It is situated in the Chamoli district. The Monal Top Trek is 6 kilometers long and 12,000 feet high. Monaltop Trek Itinerary
1. For reaching the Wan village best thing is that you have two option either you choose from Dehradun/Rishikesh side or Kathgodam side. It’s equal in distance from Dehradun & Rishikesh. So you will not face any problem of transportation.
2.We pick you up early in the morning at your pick up Dehradun/ Rishikesh Bus Dept/ Kathgodam (with extra charges).
3. We will reach Wan village late evening. Our team will meet in Wan Village, they will help you check-in to your Hotel/ Lodge/ Guest House.
4. Dinner and Overnight stay in Wan Village.
1. After delicious breakfast we move from our first camping site Deli Gate.
2. Today’s trek will totally ascent but we can cover this distance with our own speed. Deli Gate is situated in the middle of the forest.
3. After a few moments of rest, the climb must continue crossing a little stream to enter a mixed forest slowly thickening with oaks and rhododendrons.
4. Dinner and Overnight stay.
1. Today, after breakfast, we will start our trek to our next campsite Huneli which is again ascent from here.
2. Huneli is a very large grass land which it self is very beautiful from here. You can see Mt. Nandaghugati which is very big in size and some other Mountain range like Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Kedarnath, Kedar Dome.
3. The best thing of this campsite is that in night you can see Galaxy.
4. Dinner and Overnight stay in Tent.
1. Being a summit day, today we will start our trek as early as possible so that we reached the Monal Top before the sunrise.
2. Time depend on weather condition of that particular day.
3. Today’s trail is totally ascent. Once we start gaining the height you can see Himalayan mountain range throughtout the trek, which increase adrenaline in our body.
4. Once you reach the Summit point Muniyal Top you can see paranomic view of the Garhwal Himalayas range and all nearby villages in this valley very clearly.
5. Spend some hour at the Monaltop and then return to our campsite.
6. Dinner and overnight stay at Kukina Khal.
1. Kukina Khal is the Border of village Wan and our neighbour village Kanol. You can also see the Kanol village from here.
2. After breakfast we start down the trek to our Guest house/Lodge. It take 3-4 hr.
3. In evening you can explore the our beautiful village.
4. Dinner and Night stay at Wan.
Today is last day in Wan after breakfast get ready for departure to your sweet home with the memories of this beautiful trek.

Essential Requirement For Monaltop Trek:
- Bring ID proof and ask by forest dept.
- Backpack (60 ltr -70 ltr)- with comfortable shoulder straps, frame, and backpack cover (line the bag with polythene).
- Waterproof Trekking shoes – Mandatory high ankle with good grips.
- 2 synthetic /waterproof Track Pants (Do not bring shorts, tight jeans, Capris)
- T-shirts – 3 full sleeves.
- 1 A fleece jacket will be a good idea; a woolen sweater would be an alternative.
- 1 Windproof jacket, 1 Heavy jacket, Thermal Inners.
- 2 pairs cotton socks and 2 pairs woolen socks, 2 pair waterproof hand gloves.
- Sun protection cream, Woolen monkey cap/balaclava that covers the ear.
- A woolen head-scarf or muffler/ Sun Cap.
- Sunglasses – Dark with a side cover, it should be U/V protected. Curved ones will cover your eyes well.
- Head Torch with extra batteries and a power bank to charge mobile, if you do not spoil your trek.
- Water bottle- one liter each.
- Lip Balm/ cold cream/Hand Sanitizer, Toilet kit/ toilet Paper/wipes.
- Quick dry Towel- It should be light/thin, Walking Stick – Mandatory (At least one).
- Gaiters advisable Trek.
How To Reach Dehradun for Monal Top Trek
- By Air: Jolly Grant Airport serves Dehradun domestically, with regular flights coming in from major metro cities in India.
- By Train: The nearest railway station is the Dehradun junction, which is well connected to major cities from all over India.
- By Road: Dehradun is well connected through the road network. You can either drive to Dehradun or hire a cab/taxi to reach Dehradun from Delhi or any other nearby city. Regular bus services also prevail to and from Dehradun through an excellent roadway network.
Monal Top Trek Policies
- 30 Days before the travel date no cancellation charges are applicable and refund the full amount.
- 50% Charge of the total amount if 30-25 days before the travel date.
- 100% charge of the total amount less than 20 days before the travel date.
- INR 3000/- per person for advance for Booking by 45 day before starting Date of Trek.
- Rest of amount pay 30 Days before starting Date of Trek.
- No refund (Partial or otherwise) will be made if you voluntarily leave or drop out of a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized.
- Refunds are not possible for any missed or unused services including voluntary / involuntary termination of tour on account of sickness, death of a family member, late arrival on the tour etc.
- If you cancel your trek by any personal reason or any other circumstance only writing request consider not verbally. At the time we receive your written cancellation, we refund accordingly our cancellation policy.
- In case of refund, 2.5% (Payment processing charges) will be applicable.
